The Bilby room (2 - 3.5 years) caters for the needs of up to 20 children. There are 2 dedicated qualified and highly experienced carers plus one special needs worker and a casual relief staff.
The room is divided up into small areas which is required for the children who still need their sleep time. The Bilby room staff team work closely together to program according to the SACSA framework. The staff also promote Learning Stories about the children in their care. This enables parents to read and to see photos of their child whilst in care.
The indoor program includes opportunities for fun and learning to occur. We provide a group time at morning, midday and afternoon for the children. This includes counting and singing in various languages such as Indonesian and Italian.
The staff team work in partnership with parents as children in this age group begin to use their self-help skills.
The outdoor program provides the opportunity for the children to further explore and combine their physical skills within our natural and man-made environment.
The Bilby room staff work collaboratively to provide the best of care for the children and further extend their development, preparing them for their pre-school years.
