The koala Room! This is the largest room in the centre and it caters to meet the needs of about 40- children aged 3.5 to nearly 5 years. It is staffed by four dedicated trained and highly experienced workers and special needs workers when required.

The room is appropriately divided into little programmed areas with some permanent corners for dramatic play. The program follows the SACSA framework and we promote Learning Stories of children in care. The program is play based that reflects values important in human development such as positive self-esteem; choice; respect for others and equipment; appropriate language; sharing; turn-taking and opportunities for concentration.

The indoor program includes opportunities for children’s development in all areas. Morning, midday or afternoon group times are definitely fun times for all children and they offer the group invaluable leadership skills, counting or singing in various languages, e.g. Swahili; Indonesian; Italian; German or Mandarin, turn-taking, stories or indoor group games.

The outdoor program provides plenty of physical, social and exploratory opportunities. Children can take big runs of more than 50m on our undulating and shady grounds, basketball play, sandpit and watering in the vegetable beds, environmental learning with compost bins and lots of gross motor fun with the new playground equipment.
